The New York Knicks and the Utah Jazz were duking it out late in the fourth quarter. The Knicks were trailing by three, when superstar Carmelo Anthony hit a clutch shot to tie the game with just under three seconds left.
It capped off a huge night for Anthony, who had 46 points and seven rebounds.
It was all for naught though, Jazz point guard Trey Burke hit the game winning shot on the next possession. It was an incredible contested shot from the baseline just inside the three-point arc.
Burke had a less impressive night than Anthony statistically, scoring just 13 points in the game. Still, the only one that really matters is that game-winning shot that gave the Jazz the win over the Knicks.
It has to be an incredibly disappointing night for the Knicks, who now slip to 2-7 and just 1-4 at home. Anthony has to be feeling like he made a mistake deciding to stay, cause no matter what he does or how many points he scores the Knicks just can’t seem to win consistently.
