There was a scary scene in the opening night of college basketball, when VCU’s sophomore guard JeQuan Lewis fell fighting for a ball and landed hard on his head. Lewis was fighting for a rebound with Volunteers’ Dominic Woodson when the accident occurred, and it is important to note that this was just an accident and there was no malicious intent on the part of Woodson.

An audible thud could be heard, but the most horrific part of the injury was Lewis convulsing on the floor afterwards. It is hard-to-watch, and you can see the shock and concern on the face of the player’s on the courts.

The good news is he was able to get up and walk off under his power for the most part, but needed the help of others to maintain his balance. We really hope Lewis is alright and can return soon, but only when fully healthy and ready. He has the thoughts and prayers of everyone at FanSided.
