SEC fans have a high opinion of their conference, especially Alabama fans who are of the belief that Florida State would be an average team in the toughest conference in college football

Alabama is on the outside looking in for the College Football Playoff after the latest rankings were released on Tuesday and think if Florida State had to play an SEC schedule that they’d be a middle of the pack team.

“If they played in the SEC, they’d have lost two games already probably,” Alabama fan Jim Beck tells USA Today.

Beck is not alone in his opinion of the Seminoles who have won 25 straight games entering Saturday night’s game and defeated Auburn in last year’s championship game.

"“They’d be lucky to be .500,” Ron Winfrey said. “Seriously. Because I don’t think they could come back on teams week after week in the SEC as they have in the ACC. They’ve had to come back on too many games. That’s what I say.”"

Florida State has had comeback wins against Louisville and Clemson, most notably, to remain undefeated and No. 3 in the playoff rankings while Alabama is fifth. Now, Alabama can get in with a win over Mississippi State who they are handling easily with a 19-3 lead at halftime.

The most out of touch comment on this whole debate may be that one Alabama fan thinks the playoff committee is against the SEC. How odd to hear there being a bias against the SEC as opposed to hearing about how biased ESPN is for the conference.

“I think there’s a real bias against the SEC in the playoff,” said Mike Mills. “If they had their way, they wouldn’t put a team in there at all. Those teams ranked up there at the top, you put them in the SEC West, they’d struggle.

Let’s continue the debate, if Florida State played in the SEC west, what would their record be? Sound off in the comments section below.
