Can the Chicago Bulls survive without their broken NBA superstar point guard Derrick Rose?
The Chicago Bulls are facing their division rival Indiana Pacers this evening, and they will once again have to go into a game without superstar point guard Derrick Rose. It is becoming a very regular piece of news to hear for Bulls’ fans, and it has frustrated quite a few fans and media outlets. Obviously Rose is not wanting to go out every night and get hurt, and he doesn’t want to be forced to miss games either.

That being said, the Bulls have been babying him a bit and have allowed him to sit out some games that he didn’t necessarily have to sit out. Not knowing whether or not they will have their star on the court has been rough for the Bulls this season so far, and it has hurt their gameplan in the games that he has missed. Tonight against Indiana will be a tough game without Rose on the court, but the Bulls are still the more talented team with all of the injuries that the Pacers are dealing with as well.
Due to all of the injuries that he has been through, the question arises whether or not the Bulls can survive with their star point guard dealing with so many injury problems?
Quite simply, the Bulls have enough talent to compete against most NBA teams without Rose on the roster but they cannot defeat teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, and the rest of the elite teams in a seven-game series without him. He is their closer, and that is exactly what Chicago has lacked without him being on the floor.
Rose has averaged 18.0 points, 5.4 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game in the five games that he has played so far this season. He has shot 43.3 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from behind the three-point arc, and has done an excellent job of putting pressure on the defense and getting to the rim.
Without Rose in the lineup, they will need Jimmy Butler, Joakim Noah, and Pau Gasol to step up in a big way. They don’t have a player that is capable of stepping up at any given moment and clinching games for them, and that is going to be a big loss against the better teas around the league. Can they survive without Rose in the lineup? Absolutely they can survive, but they aren’t going to be championship contenders unless he is on the court.
Chicago has done everything possible to put themselves in position to make a run at winning the Eastern Conference this season. Rose has been unable to stay healthy and his toughness has been brought into question by quite a few people already.
All of that being said, the Bulls desperately need their star to get back on the court and stay there for them to reach their full potential. He isn’t too far away from getting back to his full potential on the court, but he has to figure out how to stay out there every night for his team. There is no question that the Bulls need him out there, and they will not be able to compete for a title unless he can get himself completely healthy and stay that way.
