The Cleveland Cavaliers were on fire from 3-point range, setting NBA and franchise records Saturday night against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Cleveland Cavaliers became the first team in NBA history to go 9-for-9 or better from 3-point range in a quarter in Saturday’s 127-94 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

The Cavs hit their first nine 3-point attempts. LeBron James hit three 3-pointers, Kevin Love had two, Joe Harris added two and Shawn Marion and Dion Waiters each had one apiece. It was a hot start for the Cavs, who were up 41-25 after the first quarter. They would make 11-straight before missing.
The record-setting night wasn’t limited to the third quarter. The Cavs also made 13 3’s in the first half to tie the franchise record, and broke the record of 17 3’s in a game with 19 on the night. While Cleveland was on fire, the Hawks struggled from long range, making just 3-of-22 of their 3-point attempts (13.6 percent). The Cavs finished the game making 19-of-31 (61.3 percent).
LeBron, Kyrie Irving and Harris each had four. Love finished with three and Marion, Waiters, James Jones and Will Cherry got in on the action with one each.
The Cavaliers have been getting off to slow starts, but that was certainly not the case Saturday. Many have wondered when the Cavaliers offense will click, and while they won’t have a record-setting night every game, they did display good ball movement (39 assists) and a flow on offense.
