The Columbus Blue Jackets, it seems, went on a nine-game losing streak to honor their nine SIMULTANEOUS roster injuries.

The team went through a brief period where nearly half the roster was out with injury — everyone from forward Boone Jenner to netminder Sergei Bobrovsky were stuck on the injured reserve roster for anywhere from a few days to quite a few weeks.
After what seems like a streak of losses that would never end, though, the Blue Jackets finally managed to take home a win; they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers Friday night in a 4-3 regulation victory.
Ryan Johansen played arguably the largest role in his team’s victory, assisting on all four goals to bring his points tally to 20 in the past sixteen games. Fans cannot overlook the value of Nick Foligno’s on-ice presence, though, as he notched two goals and an assist as well.
This was Scott Hartnell’s first game back in Philadelphia since being traded to the Blue Jackets over the summer; he and his teammates made sure his return would be one to remember as they snapped a three-game victory stretch for the Metropolitan Division rivals.
With this victory, the Blue Jackets still sit firmly in last place in the Metropolitan, unable to overcome their 5-10-1 record just yet. They also lost yet another player to injury, as defenseman Fedor Tyutin was injured during a collision with Jakub Voracek. Still, a win is a win, and this team is happy to have finally pulled out of their slump.
