Week 11 presents some puzzling starts at the running back position due to running backs being injured or coming back from injury. Alfred Blue RB Houston Texans:

Arian Foster will be out this week due to a groin injury. Blue is going to get a lot of opportunities this week against the Browns. The Browns are going to be a tough match up for Blue, but he’s going to get enough touches that he will score some fantasy points. I think Blue will be a mid level RB2 this week. There’s a chance that he scores a touchdown and he’s going to get the bulk of the touches, so he’s going to get some yards and catch a couple balls. Projection: 45 yards 1 TD, 2 receptions 10 yards

Ryan Mathews RB San Diego Chargers:

Mathews is making a comeback this week from a knee injury he suffered during week 2. He has a favorable match up against the Oakland Raiders, but he maybe on a “pitch count” and could be sharing a lot of his touches with Branden Oliver. I value Mathews this week as a low end RB2, and will be a decent flex play for your lineup. Even if Mathews’s touches are limited, the Raiders are bad enough at stopping the run that he will have opportunities to bust out a couple big gains. Projection 65 yards 1 TD, 1 reception 8 yards.

CJ Anderson RB Denver Broncos:

Running back Ronnie Hillman will be out against the Rams due to a foot injury. CJ Anderson will get plenty of opportunities to provide fantasy points this week. Anderson will have competition for touches with running back Montee Ball, who is coming back from a groin injury. I believe Anderson will get the bulk of the touches, and will be very successful for your fantasy team. Any RB that gets a sizable workload contains a large amount of fantasy value. Anderson doesn’t have the greatest match up against the Rams, but the Denver offense is so explosive he’s going to produce numbers anyways. Projection 80 yards, 4 receptions 20 yards

All three of these RBs are worth starting this week. They all have high floors and are very safe options this week. If you need a filler at running back, don’t hesitate to start one of these guys.
