Fowler beat the attempted block from the right tackle, forcing Thompson to step up in the pocket but there was pressure from the interior of the line and at the same time Fowler came to deliver his blow to Thompson he hit one of his linemen and the end result was a nasty looking collision.
Florida currently leads 17-10 with 9:25 remaining in the fourth quarter and if Fowler and the Gators are able to hold on for the win they would be bowl-eligible while the Gamecocks would need to win their final two games to get bowl eligibility.
Fowler has six tackles, two for loss, one sack and four hurries.
