The game between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Wisconsin Badgers is a meeting between two of the best running backs in the nation and so far it is Melvin Gordon from Wisconsin winning the battle

Melvin Gordon and Ameer Abdullah are two of the best running backs in the nation and the game between their two teams could decide the winner of the Big Ten west division.

The health of Abdullah was a question entering the game after leaving the previous game with a sprained MCL but he is on the field and running well, but it is his counterpart on the other sideline who has been the story of the game for good and bad reasons.

First, let’s talk about the good.

Gordon has 181 yards and a 62-yard touchdown on only 13 carries with seven minutes left before halftime. Check out this 62-yard score where he sprints up the right sideline.

That could be a Heisman moment for the talented Gordon.

However, now comes the bad.

Gordon lost two fumbles, including one that led to a Nebraska touchdown. After his first fumble he ran for the 62-yard score, so he made good on that. After the second fumble, Wisconsin’s stout defense forced and recovered a fumble and Gordon ran 39 yards on his next carry to make up for putting it on the ground.

All in all it’s a 17-17 game and it looks like Gordon could top 300 yards on the afternoon.
