Ohio State traveled to Minneapolis for a B1G Big Ten game against Minnesota, but fall-like weather wasn’t in the cards. No, it’s full-on winter up there.
Ohio State scored a big win last week at Michigan State to remain unbeaten in Big Ten play and on Saturday, they visited upstart Minnesota.

If you’ve been following any of the news and weather reports this week, you’ll know that one of those lovely polar vortex things has taken up residence over the upper Midwest and Minneapolis is right in the middle of it.
Conditions at kickoff at the Golden Gophers’ outdoor TCF Bank Stadium: 15 degrees and snow, with some wind to cool things down a little bit, in case anyone got too warm.
A couple of fans had some interesting accoutrements to their game-day gear as they waited to get into the stadium:
SBNation had a screen cap from the ABC broadcast of the game that showed some fans took it even further. And, because it’s Minnesota and they know what winter is, the tailgating didn’t stop just because of a little cold and some flurries:
Given that it’s the Big Ten, the forklift the group was tailgating on could have been one of the 5 gazillion rivalry trophies in the conference.
But Minnesota-Ohio State is one of the rare games in the Big Ten that doesn’t have some sort of trophy attached to it.
All the more reason for the winner to go home on the tailgaters’ forklift.
