3. Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers were fully expected to be a contender in the NFC this season after a very successful year last season, but they have been a major disappointment. They allowed most of their offensive weapons to walk away this past offseason, and Cam Newton has been struggling due to those decisions. Carolina is currently 3-6, but they still have a decent shot to win the NFC South division with the New Orleans Saints currently leading the way with just a 4-5 record.

Newton needs to figure out how to get his team back on track, and he will have to put a heavy load on his own shoulders in order to do that. Carolina is facing another division opponent in the Atlanta Falcons, and they have always had trouble finding ways to knock them off. Playing the game at home will be a help, but they are going to have their work cut out for them.

New Orleans has been playing better football over the past few weeks, and the Panthers have to figure out a way to come away with a win this week. They have plenty of talent to make a late season run at the division and get back to playing the brand of football that made them successful last season. Newton has to figure out how to get the offense on track, and Carolina’s defense has to step back up and play like one of the best in the league like they were last season.
