Don’t put anything past Terrence Ross. Not even the ball, because he’ll go get it from behind the back board and slam it home all while levitating in the air.
The Toronto Raptors played the Utah Jazz Saturday night in what was a very entertaining game. While the Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles were grabbing headlines and the Cleveland Cavaliers were dismantling Atlanta’s basketball team, something happened in Canada that should make the highlights shows tomorrow morning.
Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry threw up the alley-oop to Ross, but the pass was a bit off and behind him. It didn’t matter, Ross reached back with both hands, grabbed the ball and slammed it threw the hoop. Then he landed on the ground. It’s no wonder he is a dunk contest champion. Humans shouldn’t be able to do these things.
Despite the highlight play, Ross finished with a modest stat line. He had just four points on 2-of-5 shooting, one rebound and two assists in 22 minutes. He’s struggled with consistency throughout his career, but he’s a highlight waiting to happen that defenses can’t sleep on.
