That has been the case once again this week, and Texas Tech freshman Pat Mahomes didn’t take long to make a name for himself after sophomore quarterback Davis Webb’s left ankle injury forced him to sit out.

The young Texas Tech quarterback threw for 102 yards in one drive this afternoon against the Oklahoma Sooners. Needless to say, that number is extremely impressive, and the Red Raiders may very well be looking at their future at quarterback with this freshman.

Having that type of production in one drive is impressive, and he has plenty of time to put together a big game following that drive alone.

It’s always great to see young players come through with big performances like Mahomes did on that drive. He is doing his best to make a case to remain the starter over Webb moving forward, but will have to continue playing at a high level all game long.

Either way, that is an incredibly impressive stat and he is a player to keep an eye on throughout the rest of the afternoon.
