Arizona Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez had just one question to ask in his post game press conference on Saturday
You know things turned out well for your NCAA football team when your head coach starts quoting movies in his post game press conference. Arizona Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez did just that on Saturday. He pulled out a quote from “Gladiator” and asked a very poignant question.
"Are you entertained?"
Yes, he went there. You have to wonder if the movie was on his mind during the game? Maybe he recently watched the movie leading up to the game against the Washington Huskies, the team his Wildcats had just beaten 27-26 on a Casey Skowron 47-yard field goal as time expired.

Maybe it was just a spur of the moment quote.
All I know was yes, I was entertained but nervous. As a University of Arizona Alum myself it was entertaining to see the kick go through the goal posts, but the rest of the day I didn’t think Arizona would be in that position to win. Washington squandered their opportunities with poor game management and turnover.
With the Huskies up 26-24, all they had to do was protect the ball. They had run all over the Wildcats’ defense all day. However Deontae Cooper fumbled the ball back to the Wildcats with 1:23 remaining in the game. 504 yards of Husky offense down the drain.
They still had a shot after stopping Arizona with 31 seconds left on fourth down and timeouts to burn. They decided to allow the Wildcats to run the clock down to three seconds and then used their timeout to try to ice Skowron. Well, Skowron missed the first attempt but their timeout wiped that out and allowed Skowron a second chance to win it.
Maybe Rich Rodriguez would have used a different quote from the movie like “People should know when they are conquered”. That seemed like it would be the more likely quote after this one. Not to be on this Saturday afternoon.
