As Brad Richards suits up for his 1,000th career NHL game — this one with the Chicago Blackhawks — someone else will be donning the number 91 Richards jersey.

I suppose you could say it’s a fan… of sorts. Although if he stays awake through the whole game, I’ll be insanely impressed.
That’s right: Brad Richards and his wife will be debuting five-week old Luca Richards on Sunday, as he attends his first ever NHL game. Which, you know, is going to be kind of a big deal, because it’s also his dad’s 1,000th.
The center has had a pretty illustrious career in the 999 games leading up to this one. He’s scored 279 goals, totaled 876 points, finished three consecutive seasons with a shooting percentage over 10%, and won a Stanley Cup, a Conn Smythe, and a Lady Byng. Oh… and did I mentioned he’s made nearly $86 million in that time?
Luca, your dad kind of rocks.
After being bought out this past summer, Richards signed on with the Blackhawks for one year. He’ll be playing this career milestone game against the Dallas Stars, with whom he played for 220 games.
Richards announced that baby Luca would be in attendance via his Instagram account, where he posted the teeny jersey his son will don:
I don’t care what any of you say. This is absolutely adorable.
