The Chicago Bears are a terrible football team this year, and the current trend seems to have Jay Cutler being traded in the offseason — something they Bears might actually consider.
With the Chicago Bears struggling this season and their hopes of making the postseason are quickly dwindling. This has Bears fans all throughout Chicago wondering if Jay Cutler will be traded to try and fix things and it appears the Bears might actually be considering such a move.

Adam Schefter didn’t report that the Bears are actively shopping Cutler or even fielding calls for him, but he did mention that trading Cutler this offseason would be a cost cutting measure that helps the Bears in more than one way. According to Schefter, should the Bears trade Cutler, the team would save almost $13 million — which is a huge number for Chicago.
There’s a lot that can happen with that kind of cash for the Bears and it opens up a lot of possibilities for the team moving forward. Marc Trestman is viewed as a quarterback whisperer, meaning the Bears could draft a quarterback prospect like Garret Grayson, Dak Prescott or someone like Sean Mannion or Everett Golson and develop him into the quarterback he wants them to be.
Cutler is still a decent starter in the right system, but that’s a hard sell when he has just played his way out of perhaps the most quarterback friendly situation in the entire NFL.
