Denver Broncos Tight End Julius Thomas Leaves Game
Denver Broncos tight end left Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams with an ankle injury.
The Denver Broncos are trailing the St. Louis Rams and they’ll have to go the rest of the game without some of their biggest offensive weapons in tight end Julius Thomas, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and running back Montee Ball who both left the game with injuries. Thomas suffered an ankle injury and Ball suffered a groin injury.
Julius Thomas had just two catches for three yards in the game before he left with an injury, but he’s a big target for Peyton Manning that will likely be missed as the Broncos try to comeback from a 13-7 deficit in the third quarter. Julius Thomas leads the NFL in receiving touchdowns this year with 12 and also has caught 38 passes for 423 yards this season.

Montee Ball also left the game for Denver with a groin injury but has since returned to the game. It is Ball’s first game since returning from injury. Ball hasn’t had any touches yet in the game, however. The Broncos are already missing Ronnie Hillman, who has played well in replacement of Ball. Instead, it’s C.J. Anderson who is getting the bulk of the carries.
Peyton Manning is playing well so far in the game with 227 passing yards and a touchdown half way through the third quarter, but they’re struggling to put it in the end zone. We’ll see if the Rams can hold on and win this tough match up.
