The San Francisco 49ers are taking on the New York Giants to try and get their season officially back on track, but Frank Gore fumbling early has set that plan back a bit.

Frank Gore has 139 rush attempts on the year for just over 500 yards, good enough for eleventh in the league — but still hasn’t had a great year. The aging back has only been over a hundred yards twice on the year and hasn’t done so since the 49ers played Kansas City. However, no matter how average he has been this year, there was one thing he hadn’t done.
In the first six minutes of the Giants-49ers game, someone predictably made a mistake but it was a Frank Gore fumble that brought about a turnover — which is something we’re not used to seeing.
Gore isn’t known as a sloppy runner, which makes his turnovers strange to see as they’re so rare. That being said, he’s not immune to making mistakes, and this particular mistake led to great field position for the Giants and an eventual touchdown.
San Francisco escaped New Orleans with a win last week, but this game against the Giants is already looking like one they may have to fight their way back in and it just started.
