Larry Fitzgerald has been a star wide receiver in the NFL since he joined the Arizona Cardinals for the 2004 season, and has been one of the most dynamic offensive players in the league throughout his whole career. Arizona has been lucky enough to have him for all 11 of his seasons, and he made some history this afternoon against the Detroit Lions.
He has caught one pass for 22 yards so far in the game, and with that catch he became the second fastest wide receiver to record 12,000 receiving yards in NFL history behind Randy Moss. That is obviously a huge mark for him to reach, and it couldn’t have happened to be a better professional or a better player. Fitzgerald is still playing at an incredibly high level at the age of 31, and he isn’t showing many signs of slowing down either.
It will be interesting to see how many more yards Fitzgerald can rack up before he decided to call it a career. The Cardinals haven’t always had great quarterbacks for him either, especially as the tweet says looking back at the Kevin Kolb experiment. He has had the chance to play alongside Kurt Warner and Carson Palmer though, both of whom were able to help him rack up huge numbers throughout the middle of his career.
