The Green Bay Packers throttled the Philadelphia Eagles by a final score of 53-20 this afternoon, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers came through with yet another huge game. He has been running away with the NFL’s MVP conversation over the past couple of weeks, and tonight’s performance took him another step towards that goal.
Rodgers ended up throwing for 341 yards and three touchdowns in the game, and the Packers’ offense looks incredibly high-powered after the rough start earlier this year.
Not only did Rodgers put up a good statistical game, he also set two new NFL records with his performance as well. First of all, he broke Tom Brady’s record of most passing attempts at home without throwing an interceptions. Second, he broke the NFL record for most touchdown passes at home without throwing an interception.
Needless to say, this was a huge game for Rodgers and the Packers and they made the statement that they were looking to make. Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and he has put his team on his back and carried them to two straight blowout victories against NFC teams. This game is a bit sweeter, as the win could come into play around playoff time if the Packers and Eagles keep up their success.
