Some say the most exciting time of an NFL football game is in the second quarter. I’m betting that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft employs that idea.
Kraft was seen sleeping in his suite less than halfway through the first quarter of the Patriots Sunday Night Football game against the Indianapolis Colts. At the time the Patriots were leading 7-0. Maybe it was a long day for him? Party too hard in the pre-game?
Maybe he thought seven points was enough? Game over, right? This is Indianapolis though. This is a town that hasn’t treated his team very well on the field in the past. They’ve lost some tough ones to the Colts here in the past. They also lost Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis.
So, maybe throw that theory out the window? Maybe. Certainly though either the play wasn’t riveting enough or he has not gotten enough sleep recently. Either way, wake up Bob! Your team is fighting for playoff positioning. A win can keep you a game ahead of Denver Broncos for the top seed in the AFC and essentially two games after already beaten the Broncos.
I think this tweeter though has it correct, going back to my original thought.
That sounds more like it. This is just practice for the playoffs for the Patriots, right?
