By the end of the first quarter in Sunday’s matchup between the Redskins and the *now* 1-8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, RGIII and his team were down 10-0… at home. The fans were not happy.
By halftime, the gap had closed to 10-7, but it was still too late; before the game was even halfway over, the stands were chanting ‘We want Colt’ in reference to backup quarterback Colt McCoy.
The only game McCoy has started in this season was the team’s 20-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The other two games he has played in have actually been losses — unsurprising, since the team is 3-7 at this point in the season.
Still, there was little that could be done once the fans got it into their minds that Colt was the man who would bring the Redskins all the way to the 2015 NFL Superbowl game in Phoenix, Arizona.
Of course, there were still fans who didn’t particularly think there was any solution, and just straight up booed.
In the fans’ defense, RGIII threw two interceptions as a nice ‘I’m back’ for all those who had missed him. In RGIII’s defense, it has been extremely hard to get the Redskins to even put up a good fight at times this season; it’s not just him.
