Washington Redskins’ quarterback Robert Griffin III has been extremely disappointing since his rookie season, but he talked about being confident that he was still the future at quarterback for Washington this week. He had a chance to go out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and prove that he still could win football games, but ended up failing once again and coming through with a terrible performance.
Griffin ended up throwing for 207 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions on the afternoon in the loss. The Redskins ended up losing to Tampa Bay by a final score of 27-7, and that loss completely summed up the embarrassment that Griffin has had over the last two seasons.
Following the game, Griffin threw his team under the bus and blamed them for his poor play. Take a look at what he had to say about his teammates:
Obviously this was yet another step in the wrong direction for Griffin and the Redskins. They were hoping that he would be able to take the next step and move forward with him as their starter, but fans began chanting for Colt McCoy at one point. Washington is going to be forced to make a decision as to whether or not Griffin is their quarterback of the future. If not, they need to move on quickly and give McCoy a second chance.
Either way, this type of behavior from an NFL starting quarterback is simply unacceptable.
