It is no secret in the NBA that the Los Angeles Lakers need help. A lot of help. It is also no secret that the Lakers have fans all over the country, including Oklahoma City. One of them showed up at the Oklahoma City Thunder game against the Houston Rockets Sunday night and yelled at Westbrook he’s needed in Los Angeles.
Westbrook, who is out for awhile with a hand injury, heard the fan yelling at him from some six rows behind the scorer’s table per usatoday.com. He was yelling for him to go play with the Lakers. He shook his head no.
That’s funny. He told the fan to go back to Los Angeles. He’s not dumb. He alone can’t solve the issues the Lakers are having. Even if he wanted to go, the Thunder aren’t parting with him so easily no matter what the rumors may be out there, though the connections between Westbrook and Los Angeles are deep. Westbrook played college ball at UCLA and grew up in the Los Angeles area.
Lakers guard Kobe Bryant needs about six or seven pieces if they even want to win any good amount of games much less do damage in the postseason. Even with the injuries in Oklahoma City, he is still in a much better situation. As for the fan, I’m sure there were others in the stands who tried to send the guy back to LA as well.
