Saturday brought about another disappointing loss for the Florida Gators, this one to South Carolina and former head coach Steve Spurrier. The highlight of the game might have been two Florida players blocking each other, and absurd, unusual and embarrassing play, one that has happened twice in the last calendar year.

In response, the Florida Gators have decided to part ways with head coach Will Muschamp and dismiss him.

The Gators have a 5-4 record, barely on the winning side of .500, but Muschamp has failed to get close to the amount of success they experienced under head coach Urban Meyer before his departure.

After the game Spurrier even commented that he felt bad for Muschamp, whose team lost in improbable fashion on Saturday. The Gators, and Muschamp, looked like they were going to win their sixth game and become bowl eligible, but Florida had a 32-yard fireld goal blocked that would’ve given them a 10-point lead with roughly three-and-a-half minutes left in the game.

The Gator defense got a stop on fourth down the ensuing possession to hold the Gamecocks at bay, but South Carolina did it again, blocking the punt with 39 seconds left in the game.

In overtime the Gamecocks got a touchdown after Florida had to settle for a field goal to win the game.
