The Indianapolis Colts‘ rushing attack may have taken a big blow, with the belief running back Ahmad Bradshaw suffered a broken ankle in Week 11.
On Sunday night, the Indianapolis Colts fell to the New England Patriots, but they may have lost even more.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the team believes that running back Ahmad Bradshaw, the Colts’ top running back who left the game early with an injury, may have suffered a broken ankle during the game.
Bradshaw leads the team in rushing with 425 yards. However, on Sunday night, Bradshaw had just four yards rushing on seven attempts.
If Bradshaw is forced to miss significant time, the Colts would be forced to rely more heavily on Trent Richardson, who they gave up a first-round pick to acquire from the Cleveland Browns last season.
Following the loss to New England, the Indianapolis Colts rusher was spotted on crutches wearing a portective boot.
Bradshaw left the field to have x-rays on his left ankle.
We will learn more about the extent of Bradshaw’s injury on Monday, when the team officially provides an update.
