After getting beat once again Sunday night, this time by the Golden State Warriors 136-115 in Los Angeles, Lin was asked to describe the loss and he couldn’t. At this point at 1-9 with the NBA’s second-worst record, you could probably summon a ton of words but many of them may not be printable.
The Lakers lost by 21 but it wasn’t that close. They were down by 36 entering the fourth quarter. It is the Kobe Bryant show and then everyone else. Bryant had 44 points on 15-34 from the field. Forward Carlos Boozer was the next closest guy in shots attempted at 13, going 3-13. As for Lin? Not so good. He scored zero points. He took just two shots in 22 minutes.
Well I can come up with a few ways to describe the Lakers but Jeremy Lin, how about you start with yourself? You put up just two shots in 22 minutes. What are you doing with your time on the floor? That should have been the question posed to Lin. He had one assist and he’s the point guard.
So the point guard is not playing the point. That’s where I’d start. Then I’d tell every reporter to go ask Kobe those questions since he is 97 percent of the team. Kobe may not give you an answer either but at least he has something in the box score worth talking about.
