The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart was on CNN Sunday and took the bait on a question about why he mocks the cable news giant so much.
Jon Stewart of The Daily Show, on CNN Sunday to promote his new film, Rosewater, responded to a question from host Fareed Zakaria about why he so often pokes fun at the network on his show by comparing it to Chucky, the doll from the Child’s Play franchise of horror films.
"“CNN is very similar to the doll Chucky,” Stewart said, per The Wrap. “Sometimes it’s good Chucky, but you really got to watch out for bad Chucky.”"

Stewart even took the opportunity to respond to his mocking of CNN by … mocking CNN.
"“Here what I do: I set a Google alert for ‘Blitzer,’ Stewart said. “And then I just wait. ‘We have a CNN exclusive tonight: The Empire State Building is blue.’”"
In the end, though, Stewart says his treatment of CNN is a form of tough love.
"“The reason why I make fun of certain aspects of CNN is to be inspired by the brave reporting, is to want more,” Stewart said. “I want more of good CNN.”"

Rosewater is Stewart’s directorial debut and opened last week in limited release. It is the true story of Stewart’s interaction on The Daily Show with Iranian-Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari, who was jailed in Iran after appearing on the show in 2009 while covering the Iranian elections—the rigged Iranian elections.
Somehow, the regime of former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad turned a comment from Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones referring to himself as “a spy” to Bahari being an American spy.
