New England Patriots running back Jonas Gray scored four rushing touchdowns on Sunday night, which equaled the rest of the NFL on Week 11 Sunday.

Once again, the New England Patriots laid a beating on an AFC foe and once again they did it with an unheralded skill player coming out of nowhere with a big game. It feels like only yesterday that Rob Gronkowski was busting out with big three touchdown games before he became a household name.

Now it’s running back Jonas Gray’s turn. Gray had an incredible 199 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns on Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts. Even more impressive about that line is that the touchdowns matched the production from the rest of the league on Sunday, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Granted, that stat won’t include the Monday night game so that could change, but would it really be any less impressive even if there was a running back shootout in Tennessee?

Gray’s wild performance keyed a 42-20 blowout victory for the Patriots over the Colts, who many considered a distant third in the AFC. They hardly looked like a playoff team on Sunday night though as the Patriots scored at will, thanks in large part to the running feats of Jonas Gray.

“It’s kind of funny because on Saturday I walked into the building and Mr. [Robert] Kraft pulled me aside and said, ‘You’re going to have a big game this week, so be ready,'” Gray said, per ESPN. “Just hearing that from the owner and hearing that from the head coach, hearing that from the leader of the team, definitely gives you a positive outlook and definitely gives you the mindset to go out and do your best.”

It sure looks like the Patriots are once again at their best as the final stretch run for the playoffs begins.
