2. Alfred Blue, Houston Texans

One player that not many expected a huge performance from was Houston Texans’ running back Alfred Blue who came through in a big way with the injury to Arian Foster. The Texans evened their record up at 5-5 and gave themselves a chance to make a run at the AFC playoff picture with a big win over the Cleveland Browns. Blue powered the Texans’ offense, and took a lot of pressure off of new starting quarterback Ryan Mallett.

Blue isn’t going to be a player that is asked a lot of each and every week, but he has the talent to step on the field and perform when needed. Foster will likely be back next week, but this performance from Blue might very well be what saved Houston’s season. He carried the football 36 times for 156 yards in the game, and was a very consistent contributor when the Texans needed him the most.

All of that being said, the Texans are going to have to find ways to pull out games moving forward. They have plenty of inconsistencies to take care of, but winning against Cleveland was a good start.
