Preseason John Wooden Award Watch List, Kentucky and Kansas Lead Nominees

The Wooden Award watch list was released on Monday with 50 of the best men’s college basketball players represented with Kentucky and Kansas tied for the most represented with four each

Four members from John Calipari’s Kentucky team and four from Bill Self’s Kansas Jawhawks squad were named to the John Wooden Award watch list on Monday as those two schools are tied for the most represented.

Arizona had three named to the list and Wisconsin, Wichita State, DukeLouisville and Texas all had two players named to the list that included 50 players in total.

Creighton’s Doug McDermott won the award last year as he closed out his career as a three-time All-American and one of the leading scorers in NCAA history before being a first round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He’s currently trying to carve out a role with the Chicago Bulls.
