Griffin took to Twitter to clear the air:
It's unfortunate that anyone would take a piece of my press conference & say I threw my teammates under the bus. These men are my family

I would never throw my teammates under the bus! I take responsibility for my play & will play better. #HTTR

Griffin caught a lot of heat for the following comments made in his postgame press conference:
"“It takes 11 men,” Griffin said. “It doesn’t take one guy, and that’s proven. If you want to look at the good teams in this league and the great quarterbacks, the Peytons and the Aaron Rodgers, those guys don’t play well if their guys don’t play well. They don’t.“We need everybody. I need every one of those guys in that locker room, and I know they’re looking at me saying the same thing.”"
Although, the full context of Griffin’s comments show that he also took plenty of responsibility for the Redskins’ woes, the above excerpt spread across the sports landscape, with even RGIII’s head coach and best receiver upset at him over them.
Gruden on DeSean Jackson comments. "I think he was frustrated what RG3 said in post game...I addressed it today."

Gruden: "Robert needs to worry about himself.... I'll worry about everybody else. ... He elaborated too much"

It was wise for Griffin to try and clear the air on Monday. Unfortunately for him, with so many upset over the comments, it might be too late.
