Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney ‘Felt Great’ In Return
By Evan Massey
Houston Texans’ rookie and number one overall NFL Draft pick Jadeveon Clowney felt good in his return this past week against the Cleveland Browns.
Jadeveon Clowney was selected with the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans, and he was expected to take the NFL by storm this season. Unfortunately, he had his season derailed by a knee injury in his first career game and has only played in three games so far this year. He also missed a game due to illness last week.

Clowney returned for the Texans against the Cleveland Browns this past week, and ended up recording two tackles with one of those tackles being for a loss. He talked to the media about how it felt to get back out on the field with his team.
"“I felt great. I moved around like I wanted to. I could have been better but I felt better than I did against Tennessee. I had a lot more confidence in my knee.”"
If the Texans can get Clowney to play at the level that he was expected to coming into the season, they will have an absolutely ridiculous pass rush with him and J.J. Watt working together. There is plenty of reasons for Texans’ fans to be excited now that Clowney is making these statements, and he is playing with a bit of a chip on his shoulder due to the disappointing way that his NFL career has started.
Through his first three games, Clowney has recorded just four tackles. He has the potential to make a much bigger impact on games than he has shown so far, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get back on track against the Cincinnati Bengals next week.
All of that being said, Clowney did look good on the field this past week against the Browns. He doesn’t appear to be bothered by the knee anymore and he showed a lot of confidence and quickness in his movements. Expect to begin seeing Clowney make an impact on the field for the Texans as they look to make a stretch run at the playoffs.
