Some NFL players should just stick to keeping their work strictly on the gridiron or staying retired (or at least off-screen).

It’s not uncommon for NFL players to gravitate towards the camera during their careers, or certainly after their playing days are done. Many of them move into broadcasting, and end up as part of an analyst team for one of the networks who broadcast NFL games.

Terry Bradshaw has been hamming it up for FOX NFL Sunday seemingly forever now, as has his cohort, Howie Long. You see former players just about everywhere when watching games, from reporting on the sidelines to even doing commentary in the booth, like former Dallas Cowboys star QB Troy Aikman.

But some players can’t resist the urge to take their handsome mugs to the small or big screen, and to show the world just how multi-talented they are.

Or they aren’t.

A number of NFL players, both former and current, have tried their hand at television commercials, TV roles, and even movie roles, some going as far as to star in pictures, and their performances drew a flag on the play.

The earlier mentioned Bradshaw turned in a couple of forgettable performances in movies, some of his worst being in 1978’s Cannonball Run, and 2006’s Failure to Launch (which also gave us a full nude backside shot as a bonus). But those mailed-in performances are nothing compared to the turkeys turned in by these players.

Here are five players who should never have tried to take up acting.
