Chris Paul Upset That Clippers Home Games Feel More Like Road Trips
All-Star guard Chris Paul is upset with Clippers fans after Monday’s loss to the Bulls felt more like a road game, as chants of “Let’s go Bulls” echoed through Staples Center.

Chris Paul’s not a happy camper these days, as the Los Angeles Clippers have sputtered to a 5-4 start. Making matters worse for the All-Star guard is the fact that Monday’s 16-point loss to the visiting Chicago Bulls felt more like the Clippers were in United Center instead of their home at Staples Center.
“Tonight somewhat felt like a road game,” said Paul. “It ain’t no secret. It’s not the first time.”
Paul may have a point, but let’s go straight talk here: the fans weren’t the ones who squandered a 14-point lead to a Bulls team that had both Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose in street clothes, and they certainly weren’t the culprits behind the Clippers’ lackluster third quarter in which they were outscored 31-14.
Want more? Ok, Chris, ponder this fact: Los Angeles — as Gasol pointed out before the game — is a Lakers town. You know, West, Kareem, Magic, Kobe, Shaq, Riley, Phil….and the pesky little things that hang up at Staples Center known as 16 NBA title banners.
Sure, the Clippers are better than the Lakers these days, but let’s not get it twisted: the Clippers still have a lot of work to do in order to keep fans from waxing long for Lakers title runs and fans cheering for someone other than the Team That Donald Sterling Once Owned.
Los Angeles is also a bit of a transit city, Chris, so keep that in mind. That isn’t a secret.
