USC defensive back Josh Shaw was reinstated by the team on Tuesday night after it was announced that no charges would be filed against him after a domestic violence investigation.
Well that didn’t take long.

On Monday night, the District Attorney’s office in Los Angeles announced that no domestic violence charges would be filed against Josh Shaw because of insufficient evidence. It would seem like the dude jumping off the balcony was probably a good place to start, but apparently the other details did not build a case.
Less than 24 hours after that announcement, and Shaw has already been reinstated by USC. Talk about not wasting any time.
And just like that, what was once an indefinite suspension is no more.
The Trojans are set for a huge game against the UCLA Bruins this weekend. What role Shaw’s reinstatement will play is unclear, but it sure seems noteworthy that the timing of these events is this week.
Shaw is an undeniably talented player and one of the team’s co-captains. While his behavior this season has reportedly created some problems in the locker room, namely the bizarre lie he crafted about jumping off the balcony to save his young nephew, his return would still likely give the Trojans a boost for the home stretch of their schedule.
None of us will forget this truly bizarre college football story line anytime soon, but it would appear that Josh Shaw gets to move on and start fresh, insofar as that will be possible.
