Rockstar Comments On Grand Theft Auto V Transfer Issues

With the launch of Grand Theft Auto V on next generation systems today, Rockstar has been made aware that a handful of gamers have not been able to transfer their previous online profiles.

Today marks the release of Grand Theft Auto V on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The mega title is finally bringing Los Santos to the next generation. While you will have to play through the game again in the single player form, gamers can transfer their online characters from previous generation systems, or at least they were supposed to be able to.

Unfortunately, gamers who have put down Grand Theft Auto V since 2013 are having some issues transferring their online profiles. Rockstar has mentioned that those who haven’t been online in Grand Theft Auto V in 2014 may be experiencing issues trying to transfer their characters.

Now the company has officially released a statement on the issue saying, “We are currently addressing this issue with a patch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 users. This patch is available for download, but may not be available in your region for the next few hours. If you attempt to download the patch and see a “CE-32937-4” error, please attempt to download the patch again later today.”

For those looking to do a player character transfer from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, the wait may be a little longer. Rockstar said, “This issue will be addressed for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users by tomorrow,” the developers states. “Affected PlayStation®4 and Xbox One players can still log in to Grand Theft Auto Online  but will not be able to transfer characters until the fix is in place.”

I guess on one hand it’s a good thing that the play transfer issues didn’t cause a problem for everyone, however it falls into the category of yet another game that struggles to smoothly rollout online components in 2014.

Hopefully when the calendar turns, these issues stop coming up so frequently for developers.
