Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 11 Recap: ‘Suits of Woe’

In tonight’s episode of Sons of Anarchy, hell begins to rain down on the members of SAMCRO as Jax Teller is forced to face a rather ugly truth.

So, how are you feeling after the epic pipebomb that Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter dropped on us in the final moments of last week’s episode? If you are anything like us, you are still in one of the many stages of shock.

In tonight’s all-new episode of the FX Original Series Sons of Anarchy Jax is going to be faced with a horrible truth; every decision he has made since his wife Tara’s brutal murder – every lie, every betrayal, and every action that has led the club down this dark path has been because of a lie perpetrated by his own mother.

We all know that in the back of her mind, she was doing what she thought was necessary to keep her son safe from a rat who was about to send her son to prison for the foreseeable future, but we highly doubt that this is how Jax is going to see this.

Unfortunately, this is not the only issue that Jax and the club are going to have to contend with in the final few episodes of the series. Jax is going to find himself in an incredibly actionable position since the VP of the Indian Hills chapter has decided to take his grievance with Jax to the table.

Jax may have had his reason for taking out Jury, but that is not what it looked like from the VP’s perspective. If this doesn’t swing in Jax’s favor, he could find himself face to face with Mr. Mayhem sooner than any of us would be prepared to handle.

Also, he has this little issue known as August Marks. The club may have adequately dealt with Marks’ henchman Moses Cartwright, but the big man is still very much in play. Unless something happens to Marks in the same fashion that it did to Lin, there is going to be hell to pay when Marks is back out on the street.

How is Jax going to deal with this unbearable truth that he has uncovered? How does this affect everyone else in his life? What is going to happen when/if August is released from prison? Let’s take a look at tonight’s all-new episode of Sons of Anarchy, which has been titled “Suits of Woe,” and find out.

When we get started tonight, we watch in silence as Jax pours over all the details of Abel’s confession in his mind. It would seem as if he has been awake all night in quiet reflection. There is no telling what is going on in his mind, but once the pieces comes together, this is definitely not going to be pretty.

Unfortunately, she (Gemma) has no idea the storm that is heading her way

Back at her house, we watch as Gemma descends further into insanity. She is rehearsing what she is going to sat when she is finally face to face with her son.

Unfortunately, she has no idea the storm that is heading her way or the pipe bomb that Abel just dropped on Jax.

Jax finally emerges from Abel’s room to find Wendy sitting at the kitchen table. She gets him some coffee as the two of them sit quietly across from one another. Wendy tells him that she can’t have any secrets from him. She tells him that she checked out of rehab early to help Gemma with the boys.

She goes on to tell him that when she got home, Juice was in her apartment. She tells him that Gemma was the one who let him stay there. She also tells him that the only other person who knew about Juice being there was Unser. She doesn’t know what they were all playing at, but Jax is rather curious as to why his mother was helping Juice.

Surprisingly, Jax is very level headed with her. He tells her that the decision wasn’t hers and that he doesn’t blame her. The one thing that he asks is that she not tell anyone about this. Now, he is headed out to get some answers. In the meantime, he tells her to take care of their boys.

The way that he worded this is very curious indeed. He has never truly included her in their family dynamic. We think that he is finally starting to see that Wendy really does want what is best for Abel and that he can truly trust her with both of his sons. This is a huge step in their relationship.

In the flip side, Jax’s other relationships seem to be spiraling out of control; especially the one with his mother.

Jax is pretty straightforward with Unser when he practically knocks his door down. Unfortunately, the connecting piece that Jax needs to put everything together, Unser doesn’t have.

Unser tells Jax that his mother was torn to pieces on the night that Tara died. He tells him that he doesn’t know what actually happened that night as this is information only privy to the club.

Jax wants a face to face with Juice, but Unser is not exactly inclined to help. Then again, why would he? The club has done nothing but lie to him. Jax tell him this has nothing to do with Lin and everything to do with Tara. Jax tells Unser that he will get him all of the information he needs in order to catch Tara’s killer.

Unser is quite clear with Jax that if he burns him again there will be no more loyalty between them; none for the club and especially none for his family. Somehow we don’t think that Jax will be burning him this time; especially not with the information he now has.

Jax tells Chibs to get a hold of Tully. He tells him that he is getting a sit down with Juice, and he needs to make sure that the cameras are off. This sort of contradicts what Jax just told Unser, but we are sure that Jax has his reasons; no matter how diluted they may be.

At the prison, it would seem as if Juice has yet another job to do. We watch as the officer leads him to another room. As he unlocks the cuffs and opens the door for him, he tells him that there is a change of clothes  in there in case it gets messy.

When Juice makes his way inside, we see Lin chained by his wrists to a boiler. Juice asks Lin who it was that ratted out the club. Lin finds it interesting that the club sent the rat to flush out the rat.

Lin tells him that it was Barosky is the one who leaked out the location of the guns and all the information needed to set everything in motion.

…the blood drains from Lin’s body and flows onto the ground like a river.

Once Juice has the information he needs, he quickly puts a knife in Lin’s throat defying everything that he just told Lin about him being safe if he just gave up the rat.

As the blood drains from Lin’s body and flows onto the ground like a river, Juice makes a very valid point. Why would anyone believe that a rat wasn’t a liar as well?

Well played, Juice…well played.

When Gemma gets to the shop she he greeted by Chucky and Unser. Chucky tells Gemma that Jax was looking for her. Suddenly, she is visibly paranoid. She asks what Jax may have wanted. Unser jumps in and tells her that he can clear this up for her.

Unser gives her the heads up on pretty much all the information he has; about the new details in Tara’s murder, the Chinese man not being in the state at the time for the murder, and everything about her assisting Juice. Unser tells her that Jax is determined to uncover the truth.

Suddenly, Gemma is quick to make an escape. She tells Unser that she left something at home, and quickly heads to her car. Unser suggests that Chucky follow her home to make sure she is ok. Unfortunately, we have a feeling this isn’t going to end well for Chucky.

Meanwhile, Chibs, Tig, and the rest of the guys are discussing what lies ahead. They are all paranoid that this situation with Indian Hills is going to come to a Mayhem vote. The question is, what happens if this is really what comes into play?

Back at the prison, Tully walks into the room where Jax is waiting for Juice. Tully tells Jax that this is the only way he could secure the room. Before Juice comes in, Tully gives him the lowdown about what has been going on. Just then, the buzzer sounds and in comes Juice.

Juice tells him about Barosky being the one responsible. He also points out that he has done everything that he has asked of him. Unfortunately, Jax isn’t done with him just yet.

Jax tells him he knows that it was Gemma who was helping Juice hide from the club. He wants to know why it was that he went to Gemma to hide from the club. Juice tells him that they just kind of found each other.

Juice tries to act shocked, but he’s not very good at it.

This is when Jax drops the other shoe. He tells Juice about everything with Abel and the pipe bomb that he dropped on Jax.

Juice tries to act shocked, but he’s not very good at it. With tears in his eyes, Jax tells him that he knows that Juice is the one who can give him the information he needs.

Juice tells him that he went to his house that night looking for Gemma just as Jax had asked him to. He tells Jax that he ran into Eli out front. He explains that they heard a crash. Eli ran into the house and Gemma followed him in. He described the scene to him in bloody detail.

He tells him that he didn’t see it go down, but it was obvious that Tara had gotten into it with Gemma. Gemma was sitting on the floor freaked out and covered in blood. Juice tells Jax that when Eli went to call it in, he is the one who put him down. Now Jax realized that Juice needed Gemma as much as she needed him.

Juice also revealed to Jax that Gemma didn’t want any of this to blow back on Nero, so he came up with the idea to pin it on the Chinese. Jax tells him in great detail what happened to Bobby as a result of the club going after the Chinese. In some twisted way, this is all Juice and Gemma’s fault.

Before he gets up from the table, Jax thanks Juice for the information. He tells him that he will make it quick. We have a feeling that he is talking about more than one person here, but we are one hundred percent certain that one of those people is Juice. The question is how will it come to pass, and when?

At Gemma’s house, it is plain to see that paranoia has fully set it. The silence is broken by the ringing of a phone. Juice calls Gemma to tell her that he told Jax everything; the lie and everything. She quickly shuts him down when she realizes how screwed she really is.

Back at the clubhouse, Jax updates the club on what happened with Juice. He tells them that it was never Lin, that it was actually Barosky. Chibs points out the complication this is going to cause with Indian Hills.

Jax tells them to get in contact with Alvarez and let him know about Barosky. He tells them he will catch up to them, but he has a family matter to deal with first. He dispatches everyone to track her down. He sends two to her house and two to Diosa. He orders them to keep her there until he gets there.

We all know that with the information she has, she won’t be there when they get there.

Speaking of Gemma, there is suddenly a knock at her door. On the other side is Wendy. She tells him that Chucky is in the other room with the boys. Gemma tells her that she knows about Juice. Wendy apologizes to her. She tells Gemma that she had to tell him the truth; especially after Jax told Abel the truth.

Gemma asks her if telling Abel the truth really helped. Wendy tells him that Abel seemed better today. Gemma tells him that she’s glad that Abel knows the truth. She tells Wendy that it’s the right thing at the right time. If only Wendy really knew the whole truth.

It is almost like she (Gemma) is using Jax’s son to clear the darkness in her heart regarding her own Thomas that died when he was just a boy.

Chucky comes in and says that he needs something for Thomas. Gemma quickly volunteers to take care of it for them. It seems as if she wants to say goodbye to Thomas before she goes. It is almost like she is using Jax’s son to clear the darkness in her heart regarding her own Thomas that died when he was just a boy.

Back at Diosa, the final deal is going down between Nero and Alvarez. It seems as if he is no longer the owner of Diosa. He is finally free to head to NorCo with his son and live a normal life. Unfortunately, before he has any hopes of making it out, he has a horrible truth to deal with.

Speaking of Gemma, she tells Chucky that she has something she has to take care of and that the club cannot find her. She tells him to punch her and take his keys. At first, she refuses to hit him, but when Happy and Rat come knocking at the door, she pulls back and knocks the crap out of him.

Chucky tells Rat and Happy that she clocked him and took his keys. He also tells them that she left about 10 minutes before they arrived. As soon as they take off, Gemma comes out of hiding, thanks Chucky for helping her, and makes her escape.

The question is just how far does she think she is going to get before the club is able to track her down?

We think it’s sweet that Chucky is willing to lay it all on the line for her. As he tells Gemma, she really is his best friend. Out of everyone associated with the club, she is the only one who ever treated him with any real respect. The bad news is, if Jax ever finds out, Chucky is done for.

Back at the shop, Jarry comes to pay a visit to Unser. She tells him that Lin is dead. When he asks her if she watched the tape, she tells him that it was blank. It seems as if someone bought the room. We know just who that was, but they don’t.

For the first time ever, Unser stands up to him (Jax) and tells him like it is.

When Jax pulls up, Unser tells him about Lin. Jax tells Unser that this went down before he got there and that he had nothing to do with it.

Just then, Tig cuts in and tells him about Gemma slugging Chucky and taking off. Jax wants Unser to call Gemma and have her meet him at the shop.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite the way that either one of them planned. Unser is truly done helping Jax and the club. For the first time ever, Unser stands up to him and tells him like it is. The bad news is, it earned him a solid punch in the face.

When Jarry rushes over to him to find out what is happening, Unser tells her to lock Teller up for assault until they figure out what is going down. This is not going to end well for anyone.

Elsewhere in Charming, Gemma finally reaches out to Nero. He tells her that Quinn and Montez came looking for her, and asks he what is going on. She tells him that she needs to talk to him, and that something is going down with the club. He agrees to meet her at an unknown location. This is going to end very badly.

At the prison, Jarry and Unser pay a visit to Juice. He tells her that the reason Jax is looking for Gemma is that she knows the truth; the truth about every lie and every deception. They continue to press him for his cooperation, but unfortunately Juice sees what they have been oblivious to; it is too late for them…all of them.

When Jax, Tig, and Chibs make their way to Stockton Barosky is nowhere to be found. They all want to know what is going on with Gemma, but Jax shuts them all down rather quickly and tells them that he will let them know when the time is right.

Speaking of Gemma, she finally gets the opportunity to catch up with Nero. All of a sudden, she is sharing information with him about her childhood and her desire to raise children of her own.

She tells him that everything in her life has been torched. She tells Nero that the only thing she had is that she has been a good mother. Suddenly, the conversation shifts and it seems as if she is saying goodbye to him. She tells him that she has to end things because of family issues.

We can’t hear exactly what Jax is saying to him, but from the look on his face, you can tell that he just told Nero everything he needed to know.

Just then, Nero’s phone rings. She asks him if it is Jax. When he nods, she asks him not to answer it until she is gone. After Jax persists to call him, he finally answers it. Nero presses Jax to tell him what is going on. He tells her that he won’t tell him anything until he knows why he is looking for her.

We can’t hear exactly what Jax is saying to him, but from the look on his face, you can tell that he just told Nero everything he needed to know. He seems incredibly disturbed, but he doesn’t give Gemma up. There is something inside of him that still loves her.

There is an awkward moment of silence before he asks her for the truth. She tries to explain to him that it is complicated, but he cuts her off. He asks her once again if it is true. It doesn’t take long for her to look him in the eyes and admit the truth.

We don’t know about you, but we can almost see the heartstrings snapping inside of him.

Without saying much of anything, he tells her that she should leave. Just like that, she gets into her car and she is gone. Now, Nero is left behind to pick up their pieces of the world that just shattered into a million pieces right in front of his face. Just as he was about to get his “happily ever after” everything he ever loved crashed and burned.

Back in Stockton, Chibs calls out to Jax. Apparently, the cops are outside running his plates. Tig and Chibs do everything they can to delay the police, but they are determined to bring Jax in. He makes it out the back door and is almost ran over by a speeding car.

We all know that this is going to blow back on Jax in the end.

The man in the car rages on him a little, but when the man gets out of the car to confront him Jax pulls his gun and carjacks the man. This results on an intense car chase.

Just as the police begin to gain some ground on him, the police car runs straight into a parked car sending the officer flying.

We all know that this is going to blow back on Jax in the end. Then again, what’s new?

At Abel’s school, we see the children playing out in the yard. Gemma comes to the fence and calls Abel over. She gives him one of J.T.’s Sons rings. She tells Abel that she gave one to Jax when he patched into the club, and now he will have one when he becomes a member.

Before things go much further, Miss Harrison notices Gemma’s presence. After informing her that she cannot be there and ordering Abel back to class, Gemma does something very uncharacteristic. She thanks Miss Harrison for looking after her Grandson and asks her to take care of him.

Without incident, she just walks away. Does Gemma really believe that she is going to make it out of Charming alive, or is she tying up all of her loose ends so that when the end finally comes she is prepared?

Later that night, we find that Jax has made his way to Alvarez. Apparently, he is giving the car to them to one-over. Jax tells him that he would like the news about Barosky to stay off the streets for now. That is something that the club wishes to clean up first.

Now that the two of them are partners, they have a lot of planning to do. They are going to have to figure out how things are going to work before August Marks makes his way out of jail or they are going to be right back where they started.

Jax asks Chibs, Tig, and the rest of the gang to call him when they are ready to meet at the table.

Quickly, we see Juice sitting in his cell. Two of the guards come in and tell him that he is wanted in the infirmary. When Juice asks why, the guards tell him that he needs medical attention. We think this may be Juice’s swan song.

Jax tells the club that everything that has happened since then falls on his head.

Back at the clubhouse, the moment of truth has arrived.

Now that everyone is gathered in one place and he has all the information he needs, he tells the club everything; including everything about Tara. Jax tells the club that everything that has happened since then falls on his head.

Jax tells them that he plans to sit down with all the other Presidents to set the story straight, and then they will need to sit down with Tyler, Alvarez, and the rest of the groups to make their plans for the future.

He tells them that he can’t talk about any of this right now, but he apologizes that the family he was given has caused them so much pain. He suggests that they all take the time to sit back and think about what just happened.

Back at her house, Unser asks Chucky if he has heard from Gemma. Of course, Chucky is giving him nothing. Chucky makes the observation that Gemma is never coming back. This must hit pretty close to home for him considering the relationship that he had with Gemma.

Jax says his goodbyes to the club, as he has a mission to carry out that only he can do. That, and the fact that the police are going to be searching high and low for Jax thanks to not only what he did to Unser, but for what happened to the officer that gave him chase as well.

As the club makes their exit, Nero comes walking in. He tells Jax that he couldn’t even talk to her. Jax asks him how he is supposed to come back from this; restoring his club and his family. Nero tells Jax that he thinks it may be time for him to honor Tara’s wishes.

Now, the real question comes into play…what about Gemma?

Nero tells him that he understands his pain, and that the damage Gemma has caused is unbelievable; however, killing his mother will cause a wound too deep to ever heal. Nero tells him that something like this will destroy him. As much as some of us would like to deny it, Nero is right.

Jax tells Nero that after everything that has happened and all the carnage that they have seen, he still loves her. As the tears begin to fill his eyes, he says that she is his mother. He can’t believe that she would do something like this to him and his family.

This wound is very deep, and will not be healing anytime soon. As much as the pain is eating him alive, this is not something that he can simply cut out and walk away from.

There is no telling where this new information that Jax has acquired is going to take the club. Everyone seemed a little shocked at the news that Jax has just dropped on them. We don’t know about you, but we can tell you that if we were one of the men in the room, we would be in a state of disbelief as well.

At this point and time, the only person who truly knows where the story is going to lead us is series creator Kurt Sutter and the cast of the show; however, we have a pretty strong feeling that there will be no happy ending for Jax and those close to him.

Even if he does somehow manage to escape a visit from Mr. Mayhem, he will have not only the police to deal with but all of his internal demons as well.
