Keith Olbermann Pays Tribute To Gordie Howe (Video)
By Cory Buck
ESPN’s Keith Olbermann gave a stirring tribute to the life and career of NHL great Gordie Howe, who suffered a stroke in October.
While the prognosis for Gordie Howe seemed positive in the week or so after he suffered a serious stroke, it appears that Howe hasn’t made the same positive progress he initially did. Howe’s family has begun to prepare for the worst, leading to figures from all over paying tribute to Mr. Hockey.
Below you’ll find Keith Olbermann’s tribute and it’s a touching piece on what made Gordie Howe so special even fifty years after his playing career began.

Olbermann’s experiences with Howe reflect a lot of what we’ve heard and known in the last month or so since the stories came pouring in surrounding the former Detroit Red Wings great. Howe was a great hockey player and an even better human being.
It is that human quality that places Howe so fondly in the minds of so many. Even as he was one of the toughest, meanest players on the ice, he could be compassionate, soft-spoken and funny when in off-ice conversation.
The Red Wings and their fans have paid tribute to Howe on repeated occasions since his stroke, but expect more like Olbermann to step forward with stories of Gordie Howe and expect most if not all of them to reflect the true nature of one of the NHL‘s best ambassadors to ever play the game.
