On Thursday, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson filed an appeal letter to the league office after receiving a suspension that will go for the remainder of the season.
Earlier this week, the NFL announced that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will be suspended for the remainder of the season following his plea deal to avoid jail time for the child abuse situation involving his son.

It was immediately reported that Peterson would appeal the punishment and that step officially came on Thursday.
The NFL Players Association officially filed the appeal in a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

While Peterson and the Vikings wait for a final ruling on the case, Peterson will continue to collect his game checks on the commissioner’s exempt list.
As for whether Adrian Peterson will return to the field in 2014, it seems highly unlikely.
Thanks to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Roger Goodell has the final say on all punishment when it comes to the league’s personal conduct policy. Considering he is the man who just suspended Peterson for the rest of the 2014-15 regular season, it would be a huge surprise if he chose to reverse his decision.
