Al Golden is performing surgery on the previously broken Miami Hurricanes

“We’re going to have to perform surgery on your shoulder” said the Doctor. “The pain will go away after the surgery takes place, then the arm can get healed correctly.” The resident nurse shaked her head and agreed.

There stood the patient in shambles wondering how in such a wonderful life, he found himself in such a precarious situation.

“Right now your arm is sitting at an angle and were going to have to pull it and straighten it” said the Doctor. “After surgery it will take some time, but your arm will get back to normal, and it might get stronger than it was before.”

There laid the Miami Hurricanes football program suffering from a devastating injury sustained because of bad decisions, metaphorically slipping and breaking their arm.

They’re lucky to have Al Golden as a head coach. Just take a rain check for that, relax and understand that to build what you want doesn’t happen overnight.

The doctor in the story is Miami Hurricanes head coach Al Golden. After all the talk and turmoil surrounding the Hurricanes football program doctor coach Golden isn’t their problem, and the “fire Al Golden” conversations need to cease.

The Miami Hurricanes football program has been in a lot of pain recently. Coach Golden has had to deal with the Nevin Shapiro booster scandal, to players getting kicked off the team for fighting with teammates and even dealing with players who were facing rape charges.

This situation is unlike former Hurricanes coaches such as Butch Davis, Dennis Erickson, Jimmie Johnson, or Howard Schnellenberger. Al Golden is performing surgery on the Miami Hurricanes program.

Though we all get upset because we are left powerless when we see our beloved sitting on a Stryker gurney and there is nothing we can do nothing except for trust the doctor.

So far Miami has laid on their gurney and has recovered well since the scandals that have plagued the program.

Some dope even proclaimed before the year that this season would be Al Golden’s best year with the Hurricanes and had it not been for a late Dalvin Cook touchdown, he would’ve been right.

Even though the Hurricanes have a slight dislocation, they are recovering. Ever since coctor coach Golden has coached the Hurricanes they have gotten better. The Hurricanes have had these records since Golden’s arrival in 2011 — 6-6, 7-5, 9-4, and they now sit at 6-4, giving Golden a 28-19 record overall. Greatness is a process and coach Golden understands that, as well as the players that he brings in each season.

Speaking of players, coach Golden keeps bringing in better ones every single year, in spite of the SEC and Florida State’s atmospheric rise in recruiting in South Florida.

One of those great recruits that coach Golden was able to bring in (a lot of credit goes to James Coley) include freshman Brad Kaaya who is among top five in yards, touchdowns, QB rating, and yards per attempt in the ACC.

Actually total yards thrown is the only stat out of those mentioned that Kaaya is not ranked first in. The Hurricanes have their best quarterback since Miami legend Ken Dorsey and moving forward he’s going to become the face of college football.

With coach Golden developing Kaaya over the next few years and surrounding him with more talent on both sides of the football, the Hurricanes program is only going to get better.

Their are some that think the complete opposite and believe that coach Golden has had his fair set of chances and want him gone. On the topic of fans thinking the Hurricanes should get rid of Al Golden, Kirk Herbstreit said this, in an interview with Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald:

"“They’re out of their minds even bringing it up,’’ Herbstreit said. “They’re lucky to have Al Golden as a head coach. Just take a rain check for that, relax and understand that to build what you want doesn’t happen overnight. I talk with a lot of coaches all across the country, and what Al Golden and [defensive coordinator] Mark D’Onofrio and [offensive coordinator] James Coley are doing right now, and with the young talent they have around them, there is a lot to be excited about on that team….Nobody wants to realize that Nevin Shapiro, that whole NCAA debacle, that whole dark cloud, was just a couple years ago. You don’t go through Nevin Shapiro and possibly being put on death penalty and probation and years and years of setback and just blink your eyes and say, ‘Well, we’re Miami so we’ve got to win 12 games.’"

It might be tough to endure the fact that we can’t do anything for our program except for trust coach Golden at this point but understand the program is in good hands. People want to talk chime in and raise the question “What signature win has coach Golden had?”

Well how about we ask the opposite question “What signature loss has he had?” The Hurricanes have played hard, intelligent football since Golden’s arrival. The signature win is going to happen sooner or later, so relax and wait.

Do we really want to get rid of the best coach we’ve had since Larry Coker?

Don’t forget that our program isn’t that far removed from losing out on recruits, and the Nevin Shapiro scandal. We’re not at full strength yet, we’re still waiting in the admitting room watching the Hurricanes in the hospital recovering. Until that point Hurricane fans sit bedside and wait while our program gets healed. We’re almost there.
