Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell said he’s not worried about the prospect of getting more carries in the wake of LeGarette Blount’s release.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will have to rely on Le’Veon Bell even more than they have to this point in the 2014 NFL season. After the team promptly released backup runner LeGarrette Blount following Blount’s hissy fit in Tennessee, it’s been assumed that offensive coordinator Todd Haley would put even more pressure on Bell to take on more work. Bell’s response? Bring it on.

“I don’t really feel pressure,” Bell said per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “This is what I trained for. I didn’t feel fatigued in the game or tired. As long as I continue to work and train as I’ve been, I’ll be fine.”
“I’ve been training this whole offseason, enough where if I don’t have to come out of the game, I’ll still be energized,” Bell added. “I can finish the fourth quarter, I don’t feel fatigued or tired. I’ll continue to work at that in practice.”
Bell currently ranks second in the NFL with 951 rushing yards and while Ben Roethlisberger has gotten the lion’s share of credit for the Steelers ranking fifth in yards per game, it is Bell’s running that initially sets the tone for an offense that can also fall back on its passing game if need be.
Haley concurred that Bell seems ready for whatever work load he receives.
“He has a bounce in his step when everybody else is dragging around after a game. He has energy. We’ll give him what he can take.”
