Will Muschamp, who will step down as Florida’s head coach at the end of this season, says he still wants to be on the sidelines next year.
Will Muschamp’s time as the Florida Gators’ head coach is coming to an end. The oft-criticized coach will be on the sidelines for Florida’s final two games and then the university will move on.

Muschamp is thinking about moving on, too. He made it clear he wants to be coaching in 2015, telling ESPN he would “like to obviously be working next year.”
Muschamp’s career at Florida has been a disaster. Taking over one of the best programs in college football in 2011, Muschamp has gone 27-20 with a 17-15 record in Southeastern Conference play.
Still, there is at least one person out there that believes Muschamp did a good job with the Gators: Alabama head coach Nick Saban.
"“I don’t care what’s happened to Will and his circumstances, he did a really good job in my opinion in making that program better, did a great job of recruiting, was a great competitor out there in recruiting, and I think he really did a really good job in coaching the team,” said Alabama coach Nick Saban, who hired Muschamp as an assistant at LSU and with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. “There were just some parts of the team that never did as well as people’s expectations, and that’s the business that we’re in."
Considering how we often see failed coaches recycled in football (See: Kiffin, Lane), Muschamp actually might be able to find a decent gig for next season.
But make no mistake: he has a lot to prove as a coach after what happened under his watch at Florida.
