The Boston Red Sox reportedly offered Pablo Sandoval a $95 million contract which is the best one he has on the table among as many as three teams.

When Pablo Sandoval hit the open market after the World Series, the Boston Red Sox seemed to be a pretty decent landing spot for him. As the offers start to roll in, the Red Sox continued to distance themselves from the pack, despite the fact that there are other teams making moves to sign the slugger.

Even still, Boston is trying to get Sandoval out East and their offer is one of the best that the third baseman has on his plate. According to Nick Cafardo from the Boston Globe, the $95 million offer that the Red Sox reportedly have out to Sandoval is the best one he has on the table.

"The Red Sox might be pulling ahead in the race for Pablo Sandoval.A major league source indicated the Red Sox’ five-year, $95 million offer may be in the lead over Sandoval’s offers from the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres."

Landing Sandoval would be huge for the Red Sox, as they’re starting to build a slugging machine in the AL East. The Oakland A’s tried to build a pitching machine out West but the Red Sox wants to be able to beat the living daylights out of teams by literally clubbing them into submission. Adding Sandoval would be a huge piece to that puzzle, and the $95 million offer being the best on the table only seems to make Boston look more and more like the place where Sandoval will land.
