Tomorrow, November 22, is the one year anniversary of the launch of the Xbox One. You probably remember waiting outside your local gaming store until the early hours of the morning to get your hands on the newest, latest, and greatest console from Microsoft. To celebrate what has been a great year, Microsoft is making Sunset Overdrive free this weekend.
For those of you yet to have experienced the Awesomepocalypse, now is your chance. When the game launched earlier this fall, we made sure to review it letting gamers know that it was a title that should not be passed up. If you need more convincing, you now have that opportunity straight from a first hand experience.
In a press release today, Microsoft said:
"But more importantly, it’s the one year anniversary of Xbox One and to celebrate, Microsoft and Insomniac Games are inviting all Xbox Live Gold members who still haven’t equipped their TnTeddy’s and donned their bunny ears to get an unlimited taste of the Awesomepocalypse for 24 hours starting tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 22.Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One will get to play Sunset Overdrive for free from 12:01 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, Nov. 22 to 12:01 AM Eastern Time on Sunday, Nov. 23. Players can grind across Sunset City and decimate mutants until their hearts are content in the campaign, or join with up to seven players for co-op mayhem in Chaos Squad."
What a way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Microsoft is giving gamers presents instead of the other way around. At any rate, Sunset Overdrive may not be a game for everyone, but this gives you a perfect opportunity to find out if it’s worth a purchase or not.
Hop into the action over the weekend, and decide if you want to finish the quest against Fizzco on your own.
