That is exactly what happened in the first quarter of a key Big 10 showdown between Nebraska and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Set up by a long catch-and-run on a busted Minnesota coverage, Abdullah scored an easy two-yard touchdown to give his team a 7-0 lead.
Abdullah entered this game with over 1,300 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns on the season. That is a full season’s worth of work for some guys and a career’s worth for other guys. But for Ameer Abdullah, those are simply his numbers for a season that is still in progress and has a ways to go.

The Gophers were able to answer, giving this game the makings of an entertaining affair between two ranked teams. Nebraska has at least a slight advantage because of Abdullah, something that was clear on this play.
