It has been a foregone conclusion for weeks that Michigan head coach Brady Hoke would be fired at the end of the season, but who would be making that decision had become cloudy after Jim Hackett was named the interim athletic director

Jim Hackett is the interim athletic director for Michingan after Dave Brandon was forced out earlier this year and will be tasked with the responsibility of deciding the fate of Wolverines head football coach, Brady Hoke, who is on the hottest of hot seats.

Hackett commented on Hoke’s status today saying he will evaluate him at the end of the season and look at his complete body of work before deciding to fire him after a third straight disappointing season or to bring him back for 2015.

"“The end of the season, for me, is a question I hear in your comments whether or not it’s a certain date,” Hackett said, via CBS Sports. “When I get there, I’ll know I’m ready to talk about it.“I’m going to give you a really clear answer on that when we get to the end of the season. It’s a body of work, guys. We have two more games. One of them is a red letter game with a really important rival. When that’s all done, it won’t be vague or unclear about where we stand.”"

It has been all downhill since Hoke’s first season in Ann Arbor when he led the Wolverines to an 11-win season and a win in the Sugar Bowl. What’s followed since has been three straight years with at least five losses and complete and utter domination from their two chief rivals, Michigan State and Ohio State.

Not even a win over the hated Buckeyes in The Game could be enough to save Hoke from the unemployment line. Especially if Hackett wants to drop the interim from his job title and be in charge for the hiring of the next head coach at Michigan.
