This will cover my college football picks against the spread for the games that kick off between 3:30 and 6:30 pm eastern.
(15)Arizona at (17)Utah(-4.5): This Utah defense has caused problems for every team that they have played this year. The only team that topped 30 on them was Oregon. The same team that Arizona beat in Eugene earlier this year. That said, Anu Solomon really has not played that well on the road overall. Give me Utah.
(8)Mississippi(-3.5) at Arkansas: This will be a hard-fought defensive battle. I think Ole Miss wins, but will it be by more than a field goal? With their defense, I say yes. I think this will be like a 17-13 game or so, so give me the Rebels.
(24)Louisville at Notre Dame(-3.5): I don’t buy it. Notre Dame turns it over far too much to be consistent right now, and Louisville has an outstanding front. This spells more turnovers by Golson, and a Louisville win. Give me the Cardinals.
Boston College at (3)Florida State(-17.5): This is too many. Give me BC with confidence. I have seen nothing from FSU that suggests they can cover this.
Georgia State at (22)Clemson(-40.5): This is too many. Clemson’s offense is not a well oiled machine with Cole Stoudt under center, which is where he will be this afternoon. Give me Georgia State.
(16)Wisconsin(-10.5) at Iowa: Did you see Minnesota give Iowa an enema with David Cobb and the running game? What do you think Melvin Gordon will do to them? I don’t think he runs for over 400 again, but 200 is likely. Give me Wisconsin for my lock of the day!
Maryland at Michigan(-4.5): This is too many. I think I like Maryland straight up!
Texas Tech at Iowa State(-1.5): Call me crazy, but I think Texas Tech needs this. Still, their defense is awful. It isn’t quite as bad as it was early on, but it’s still the worst in the conference, and that is saying a lot. Give me the Cyclones at home.
Florida International at North Texas(-2.5): The Panthers have struggled on the road. UNT has struggled everywhere. Give me the Mean Green, I guess.
Tulane at East Carolina(-19.5): They have watched East Carolina’s defense play, right? That said, Tulane is in the bottom ten of scoring offense. I have to go with ECU, I think.
Syracuse at Pittsburgh(-7.5): I don’t like that half. Syracuse has a decent defense, and Pitt has some future NFL guys on offense. All that aside, Pitt has not exactly played well even with all that talent. I have to go with the Orange, even on the road.
South Florida at Memphis(-19.5): With the way the Tiger offense is rolling along, this actually looks low. Give me Memphis.
Stanford(-5.5) at California: Cal has looked much better lately, but I still think the Stanford defense will control this game. Give me the Cardinal.
Louisiana-Monroe(-7.5) at New Mexico State: I hate the half. Give me the Aggies.
Colorado at (2)Oregon(-32.5): Too low. The Colorado defense has been making average quarterbacks look like Heisman contenders. What do you think an actual Heisman contender will do to them? Give me Oregon.
Stay tuned for the rest of my picks for today!
