The Dallas Cowboys’ receiver Dez Bryant seems to finally be breaking out of his shell, opening up and letting people see the real number 88 off the field.

Dez Bryant is known for his touchdowns on the field, but some may not realize he also does his best to help the community around the Dallas Cowboys.
Bryant was at the Oak Cliff YMCA, a district in Dallas, on Friday night to volunteer his time handing out 1,500 turkey dinners that were donated by Albertsons for families in need. However, a reporter obviously thought that Dez would not show up, asking him outside the Cowboys’ locker room Thursday if the receiver would indeed be at the event.
Bryant didn’t seem to be to happy about the question, making it clear that he will be there.
Bryant has had his share of off the field distractions, causing some fans to maybe have an altered view of him.
"“I remember when I used to get a lot of heat, I used to try to show people that I’m not a bad guy,” Bryant said. “Eventually I learned to just do it and just show people who you are. I think that’s exactly what I’m doing."
Bryant also said he thinks it’s working because he sees kids throwing up the X to him, which means a lot to him so in turn he wants to prove to the fans that he appreciates him.
Bryant is also going to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program over the holidays saying that he wants the family to “have the best Christmas ever,” and “it’s always better giving than receiving.”
"“Anything that’s going to excite someone. That’s my kind of party. That’s what I love to do. That’s what I’m forever going to do. This is the real me.”"
It’s always good to see big name guys come out and help the community around them in any way possible, especially when the holidays roll around.
