The Georgia Bulldogs suffered a crushing blow last week when they lost star running back Todd Gurley for the year with a torn ACL. But in the game of football, the philosophy is next man up, and that next man behind Gurley is freshman Nick Chubb.
On Saturday against Charleston Southern, Chubb is showing that he has what it takes to be the man in the backfield for the Bulldogs.
Watch in the video below as, early on in this one, Chubb blows the doors off the Southern defense and takes the ball 83 yards for the touchdown.
We’ve seen flashes of greatness from this young man all season long, and now he’ll have the chance to show that he can carry the load down the stretch here. This run might have against an inferior opponent, but that still doesn’t make it any less amazing.
It will be so much fun to watch Nick Chubb progress in the coming years, just like it was fun to watch Todd Gurley.
